Grocie and Grocy are different apps
Grocie is a free recipe and shopping list app for iPhone and Android. Browse public recipes, save them, and share a grocery list.
Grocy, at grocy.info, is a different product: a self-hosted app for household pantry inventory. Grocie and Grocy are not affiliated. The names are one letter apart, so this page is here to keep them separate.
What Grocie does
- Public recipes and posts on grocie.app open without an account.
- Saving a recipe adds its ingredients to one shopping list. Items with the same name and unit merge.
- The list is grouped by store department.
- You can invite other people onto the same list and see who checked an item.
- A list and recipes you already opened still open without a connection, then sync later.
- The apps are free to download. Premium is optional. In the US store listing it is $6.99 per month, and it removes ads and unlocks AI recipe tools.
If you want a recipe and shopping list app, you want Grocie. If you want to run your own pantry server, that is Grocy, not this site.
